Label finishes

A proper finish provides protection to the label and can greatly enhance the look, feel, and durability of a label. 

Varnishes protect the ink of the label from wear or scuffing during application, transportation, and use. 

Laminations provide greater durability and protection than a varnish. Most prime labels and consumer products use either a gloss or matte lamination. In outdoor or industrial applications, a polyester lamination is highly recommended.

Varnishes and laminations can also be formulated for thermal transfer printing. 

This allows for variable print information to be added to the label on site using thermal transfer printers and ribbon.
